Free task title generator

Give every to-do a title that gets it done

Vague tasks get postponed. Clear titles get finished. TaskTagger turns a rough idea — or nothing at all — into sharp, actionable task titles for work, home, study and personal life. Pick your categories and title style, generate a fresh batch, then copy or download them.

    Honest limits.
    • Titles are starting points, not decisions — you still decide what matters today.
    • The generator mixes verbs, contexts and timeframes at random; some combos will need a small edit to fit your life.
    • No priorities are computed for you. If everything is P1, nothing is.
    • Output never leaves your browser, so it cannot sync to your to-do app — copy or download to keep it.

✦ Why task titles change what gets done

A to-do list entry like "report" is a noun pretending to be a task. Your brain reads it, finds no verb, no finish line, and files it under "later". Rename it "Draft the first page of the quarterly report before lunch" and the fog lifts: you know what to do, what "done" looks like, and when it is due. That is the entire job of a task title generator — convert fuzzy intentions into concrete, startable work.

Productivity systems from Getting Things Done to time-blocking all converge on the same advice: define the next physical action. Task titles are where that advice becomes real. A good title names the verb first ("Finish", "Call", "File"), points at a specific object ("the vendor contract", "the pantry inventory"), and optionally pins a boundary ("by end of day", "[P1]"). TaskTagger builds titles in exactly those slots, so every output is scannable at a glance.

    ✦ How the generator works

Type an optional keyword — "report", "garden", "invoices" — or leave it blank and let the generator roam across task categories. Choose one or more categories (work, home, study, personal, creative) and one or more title styles:

    • Action-led: starts with a strong verb — "Organize the garage tidy-up". Best for brain-dump lists.
    • Deadline-driven: verb plus a timeframe — "Submit the expense report by Friday". Best for procrastinated work.
    • Priority-tagged: prefixed with [P1]/[P2]/[P3] — best for triaging a long backlog.
    • Time-boxed: verb plus a time budget — "Clean the kitchen deep-clean in 25 minutes". Best for chores and admin.

Every title is drawn with cryptographically secure randomness (crypto.getRandomValues), duplicates are filtered out automatically, and each result has its own Copy button. Use "Copy all" to paste a whole batch into your to-do app, or "Download .txt" for an offline list.
